The ''infinite improbability drive'' is a bit of a slot machine for remixing realities. INTE5340 students couldn't resist its allure. And we landed in a strange remix of San Frantokyo Tech and CU Denver. In episode 3 of our class podcast, the Vogons followed up with us about impending destruction of the planet... pending appropriate paperwork. After a few hits on the infinite improbability drive, it appears that Walt Disney manifested as a participant in our course with an aggressive territorial streak. Walt demanded the course cease and desist it's use of his storytelling properties - Baymax and San Frantoykyo. As we landed in court, Walt was paralell an accusor and a defender. Likewise, Baymax appeared in our Canvas course and engaged discussions about notions of AI rights - specifically, his copyrights. Finally, in episode 4 of our podcast it has become clear that suspicion has arisen about Baymax's integrity. The user must have some form of choice that takes them down alternate pathways. Branching is easy. It is simply a set of links that say choice A, B, or C - each going in different directions of the story. I've seen it done with Google Slides, with Twine (obviously) or with video - using something like Eko Studio. Your finale medium-thing can conclude one of our course storylines (optional) but it must adhere to the requirements outlined in the make-bank + it must incorporate //''branching''// - allowing us to choose our own adventure.
###You're welcome.

(set: $score to it +1)[Points: $score ]

##Dues ex Machina This Latin phrase originally described an ancient plot device used in Greek and Roman theatre. Many tragedy writers used //''Deus ex Machina''// to resolve complicated or even seemingly hopeless situations in the plots of their plays. The phrase is loosely translated as “//''god from the machine''//.” In modern storytelling, //''Dues ex Machina''// roughly translates as an overly convenient plot device. It's an unbelievable mechanism or situation to get the story out of an impossible situation. //''Unbelievable and impossible...''// as though god interveined in the story. For example, our protagonist wakes up and it turns out //the whole story was just a dream//! Or, it turns out the hero //had a superpower that even s/he didn't know about//! Or, s/he //isn't really dead after all! // Or, there's //a magic button that can instantly and randomly remix reality// - giving the creators an infinite number of possible branches for the story. ###If you want to go in a completely different direction than our absurd sci-fi themes, press the button and simply make it so. Want to do something with the Karate Kid? Stranger Things? Shakespeae? Your family? Your class? Go for it.
